Influence of body composition and food consumption on the survival of patients with breast cancer

Influence of body composition and dietary intake on SURVIV al of B reast Cancer patients

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women in Brazil and worldwide, representing a major public health challenge. Although advances in diagnosis and treatment have increased survival, factors such as nutritional status, body composition and dietary patterns continue to significantly impact the prognosis of these patients.

This project aims to investigate how nutritional aspects, including body composition and diet quality, are related to survival and clinical outcomes in women with breast cancer. The study uses data from a Brazilian prospective cohort with long-term follow-up, with the aim of generating evidence that can support personalized nutritional strategies and contribute to improving quality of life and oncological care in the country.

Numerous articles have already been published and works presented at major scientific conferences.
